“金融的未来”颁奖典礼于5月15日在伦敦举行

　　Students from Gibraltar, Cyprus, Malaysia and the UK won prizes at Chartered Accountants’ Hall for achieving the highest marks in their ACA exams last year. They were joined by ‘FD of the Future’ Clare Needham, who is the Head of Finance at retailer Wilkos. She won her title at last year’s FDs’ Excellence Awards.

　　She said: “I’m inspired by all of today’s top students who are showing that they are the ‘ones to watch’ in the accounting profession. I also trained to become an ICAEW Chartered Accountant and so I know that it’s no easy feat to combine study with working, particularly as the ACA is so challenging.

　　“It is an incredible accolade to win a prize as the talent and competition is so fierce. Numbers and technical accounting is not enough alone and the ACA qualification puts you on the ladder of strong leadership as well,” she added. “The future of finance is dependent on the solid knowledge, talent, and ethics of trained ACAs – and these prize-winners show me we have a strong pipeline of talent coming through across a variety of firms. Business and practices all over the world should be delighted with their winners.”

　　Out of 66 students, Isobel Smith achieved an impressive 99% in the Professional Level Audit and Assurance exam last year.

　　ICAEW Vice President, Andrew Ratcliffe, added:

　　“Our prize winners are on their way to becoming some of the most successful business people around. They are joining a profession that advises the world’s leading companies.With their achievements to date, I have no doubt that these students will go on to make excellent contributions to the organisations they work for, be that in business, practice or the public sector.

　　He added: “The ACA qualification is the first step on the path and their successes give them the freedom to choose their own direction in our profession.”
