　　Yesterday was the first anniversary of icaewvolunteers.com, a website which we set up to help more charities access our members. So it’s great to hear that icaewvolunteers.com has become the number one website for financial volunteering roles.

　　And it’s even better to hear that more and more of you are lending your finance skills to various charities and not-for-profits (we know members cover at least 30,000 volunteer roles).

　　It’s vital that boards are able to find the skilled volunteers they need, particularly people with accounting skills. And volunteering can be very rewarding as well. Look at Peter Millward’s inspirational story for example. Peter became a trustee for WaterAid and has been helping bring clean water to some of the world’s poorest areas.

　　Here are some of the first year statistics for icaewvolunteers.com:

　　Total volunteers: 1,142

　　Organisations signed up: 611

　　Over 900 roles posted so far

　　In April, ICAEW confirmed 66 successful matches between volunteers and not-for-profit organisations
