　　I work with companies ranging from small family businesses to large conglomerates, from bakeries to banks and from manufacturing to construction.  Projects include valuations of companies, mergers and acquisitions, managing debt and corporate restructuring, initial public listing and raising capital.  In other words, any company that is looking to grow could seek the services and advice that we provide to help them achieve their goals.

　　Every company is different and it’s vital to fully understand how each company works and its business goals before we can give them the right advice.  This involves working closely with senior managers to be calear about the environment their company operates in and the kind of business decisions they face.  In turn, this means that we get great exposure with some very influential figures in the business world.

　　At KPMG, I have worked in Kuala Lumpur and in Hong Kong, especially in corporate restructuring which involves helping clients in a down cycle to restructure, operate more effectively and begin to grow again.

　　My most challenging and satisfying project was working with a massive Malaysian conglomerate on a two year project.  We took our client’s financial projections, worked with senior management to understand the basis of their assumptions, monitored the performance of our client’s subsidiaries and restructured our client’s loan portfolio.  We managed to create a real win-win outcome, so that our client continued to operate and moved back into a growth cycle while the creditors received a return on their investment.

　　Having the ACA qualification has enabled me to work for an excellent company, to travel with work, to take on exciting and challenging projects and to adapt to changes in the market that call for a different approach or different skills.  It does take a lot to become an ACA.  But whatever it takes, it’s more than worth it.
