　　The six strategic goals guided the development of programs and action plans over the past four years. It has been a period of strong forward movement on many fronts for CGA-Canada and for the CGA designation, nationally and internationally. Highlights of recent accomplishments include:

　　1.The Quebec government’s adoption of legislative amendments to provide CGAs full access to public accounting.

　　2.Strong membership growth from 42,000 in 2007 to 45,000 at the end of 2008.

　　3.Mutual recognition agreements with ACCA, CPA Australia and CPA Ireland.

　　4.The creation of CGA Caribbean.

　　5.CGA-Canada governance reforms establishing a smaller board and a broadlybased Affiliation Council.

　　6.Increased CGA representation on international accounting bodies including IFAC’s Small and Medium Practices Committee, the Fédération internationale des experts-comptables francophones (FIDEF) and the Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA).

　　7.The revamping of PD Net, CGA-Canada’s comprehensive online resource library.

　　8.The creation of PPM Online, a website for CGA public practitioners.

　　9.A new competency framework to advance the CGA Education Program.

　　10.A new certification model (Professional Applications and Competence Evaluations – PACE) to ensure new CGAs possess all core competencies.

　　11.A fully aligned national and regional brand campaign.

　　12.A high level of media interest in our research and public policy activities.

　　13.National recognition as a leading organization for best practices in human resources.

　　14.The purchase of new headquarters.

　　As we reflect on these major achievements, it is clear that significant progress has been achieved as measured against those strategic goals. And we are confident that our new goals are well-focused and appropriate and similar successes will be achieved in coming years.
