　　Accountability to Donors
 

　　The CGA-Canada Research Foundation values your financial support to our important education and research projects. Your confidence in how your donations are managed is critical to the Research Foundation, its staff and its Board of Directors. When you make a donation to the CGA-Canada Research Foundation, you can be assured that it will be carefully managed and used to achieve exceptional results.
 

　　The expertise and oversight of CGA-Canada ensures that the financial management of the CGA-Canada Research Foundation meets or exceeds accepted standards of good governance and generally accepted accounting principles. In addition, the Foundation’s Board of Directors has adopted and oversees a Gift acceptance policy. Finally, the Foundation has joined other leading Canadian charities in adhering to Imagine Canada’s Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability Code.
 

　　The CGA-Canada Research Foundation’s Board of Directors are:

　　Louise Nesterenko, FCGA, Chair
 

　　Stephen Spector, FCGA, Vice-President
 

　　Lynda Carson, FCGA, Secretary Treasurer
 

　　using donations solely for the purpose for which they were given and accepted;
 

　　ensuring that information about donations remains confidential to the CGA-Canada Research Foundation to the extent provided for by law;
 

　　acknowledging donations promptly;
 

　　thanking and recognizing donors;
 

　　providing financial statements to donors upon request;
 

　　handling complaints seriously and responding swiftly;
 

　　answering questions accurately and promptly;
 

　　detailing how donations have been spent;
 

　　respecting a donor’s wish to remain anonymous;
 

　　not selling or exchanging donors’ names for any purposes.
 

　　The CGA-Canada Research Foundation operates as a completely separate organization from CGA-Canada. Both organizations have separate governance structures and different operational mandates. However from time to time CGA-Canada officers and staff will support the work of the Foundation by executing administrative tasks and performing other duties.
 

　　In addition it is important to note that the CGA-Canada Research Foundation operates separately from other charitable foundations which have been established by some provincial CGA organizations.
