　　Jackie Poirier, FCGA
　　Jackie Poirier is deputy president of the Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA), the first woman to hold the position in CAPA’s 37-year history and the board’s sole Canadian representative.
 
　　A past chair of CGA-Canada (2006-07), she has been a CAPA Board director since 2007 — she was re-elected to the Board in 2011 for a second term — and will serve as deputy president until October 2015. Poirier also chairs CAPA’s Professional Accountancy Organization Development committee and, as deputy president, chairs the Strategy committee.
 
　　She first served on the CGA-Canada board of directors in 2001 and was an executive committee member from 2002–08. Poirier was president of CGA Nova Scotia from 1999 to 2000. She was awarded the FCGA designation in 2002 and life membership in 2009.
 
　　Poirier is the director of the Nova Scotia Tax Service Office of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). She has held senior management positions with the federal government since 1997, including posts with Public Works and Government Services Canada.
 
　　With 34 member organizations in two dozen jurisdictions, CAPA is the largest of four regional accountancy organizations recognized by the International Federation of Accountants. Its mission is to provide leadership in the development, enhancement and coordination of the accounting profession in the Asia-Pacific region. CAPA also promotes standards harmonization.
