　　The requirements you need to fulfil for the CERA qualification changed from September 2012.

　　For those taking the ST9 exam after 1 September 2012, you also need to attend a seminar in order to receive the qualification.

　　The seminar was one of the recommendations of the CERA Board, when they reviewed the UK Profession’s CERA qualification. This will enable delegates to investigate and discuss more practical applications of enterprise risk management, which is not possible in the time allowed for the exam.

　　The seminar must be taken after passing the ST9 exam, and for anyone passing or being exempt from the ST9 exam after 1 September 2012 it is a compulsory part of the qualification.

　　Students who were granted an ST9 exemption through the university route by 31 January 2013 do not need to take the seminar. 'Granted' in this context means the exemption recommendation has been made to the Profession by the Independent Examiner, the student has applied and paid for the exemption and the Profession has authorised the exemption. If any of these were not completed by 31 January 2013 then the exemption will have a granted date after 31 January 2013 and the student will need to take the seminar.
