Should we wait for opportunities to knock on our door or create opportunities by confronting challenges?This makes a tremendous difference.As is vividly described in the given cartoons,the man on the right idles away his life while complaining about the lack of opportunities.The other man,on the contrary,has enough confidence in himself that he can turn challenges into chances.

What may account for the striking contrast?Opportunities often appear in the form of risks.Only wisdom can tell the difference.Besides,we also need courage and confidence to take the opportunities in the dress of‘risks’.For example,just like Jack Ma,some highly intelligent experts also considered e-commerce as a golden opportunity.Unfortunately,lacking the gut to take the risk,many of them could do nothing but see the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity slip away.

Such is human nature that everyone craves for success,either for the fame or fortune it brings about,or just for the need of self-actualization.In the process of pursuit,some eventually realize their dream with persistence and perseverance;others stop halfway once encountering an obstacle;still others even dare not try for fear of failure.Cowards they are.

Many people regard film-watching as a very good way to relax or to socialize with friends.From the charts,we can clearly find that the number of audience has increased considerably while box office revenues have also climbed correspondingly compared with those of 1999.In addition,the pie chart reveals that,in comparison with the figure in 1999,the percentage of domestic made movies has risen by 30%.

At least it seems to me,two factors are mainly responsible for the change.Firstly,recent decades have witnessed a dramatic rise of people’s living standard as a result of economic prosperity.According to a report issued by NBS(National Bureau of Statistics),the average income of residents in some areas has grown approximately by 50%in the past 10 years–a rise incredible in the last century when many people were worried about how to make ends meet.In addition,this change can be attributed to the improvement of the quality of domestic made movies.Unlike their predecessors,directors of the new generation are familiarized with new technologies and techniques previously used only by their counterparts in Hollywood,thus making their films more attractive than before.

To conclude,the trends shown in the charts reflect a desirable change in economic development and confidence in our own culture.
