Average Life Expectancy of China
英文:
As is illustrated in the table, the average life expectancy of China is 35 in 1949, 57 in 1957, 69 in 1995 and 78 in 2019. Apparently, the average life expectancy of China has been on a dramatic rise over the past 70 years since the foundation of the People's Republic of China.
What accounts for the increase? From my perspective, at least three factors contribute to the change. To begin with, To begin with, the change is closely related to the rapid development of Chinese economy and the rising income of the Chinese people. With the rapid improvement of living standards, more and more Chinese can afford better diet and healthcare. More importantly, the change has a lot to do with the turning of the Chinese people’ attitude towards and outlook on life. Finally, the change is enhanced and promoted by the government’s bettering retirement and pension policies as well as the more convenient channels in hospitals and nursing homes.
With the development of society, the rising trend is bound to continue for a couple of years in the future. As far as I am concerned, it’s a positive trend and should be encouraged since it is beneficial not merely to citizens but to the whole society.
